Categorie - sorting frontend

Dear Team!

When I sort by ID, the order isn't reflected in the frontend.
Sorting is only possible manually by dragging and dropping the individual categories in the "sandwich menu."
I would like the sorting I make in the backend to be displayed correctly in the frontend.

The backend sorting you are using is allow sort categories in a column of your choices at the time you are accessing to Categories Management screen only. It won't affect how these categories are being displayed in frontend. In the frontend, categories are displayed in the order controlled by it's ordering (not by ID or Name... which you sort in the backend)

So to change ordering of categories in the frontend, you will need to use drag and drop to change ordering of categories to meet your need

Yes, that's how I understood it too.

My development request is that the sorting by ID in the backend is also reflected in the frontend.

Sort by ordering is most flexible option. But I will consider support sorting by other fields like id, title in the future

I have the feature implemented. You can access to My Downloads menu item, download latest package, update it to your site

Then edit the menu item you created to display categories, you can choose to order categories by ID, Title or Ordering. That should work for your need
