QR READ + DATA was created by hernan ramirez
Dear Tuan / Events Booking Team,First of all, thank you for the great improvements in Events Booking 5.4.0, especially the QR Code Check-in enhancements and the option to use handheld QR scanners.I’d like to request a Wishlist feature related to QR check-in:Feature request: “QR Scan → Participant Details / Ticket Preview”When scanning a registrant’s QR code (either using the new handheld scanner method, the built-in QR scanner, or a desktop QR reader), it would be extremely helpful if the system could immediately display a pop-up / modal (or a dedicated check-in screen) showing the registrant’s key details, for example:
With handheld scanners and desktop QR readers, the process is super fast—but if the result only shows “valid/invalid” without the participant’s details, staff still needs to manually search the registrant list to confirm who it is. A quick participant preview right after scanning would make the check-in process complete.Thank you for considering this improvement!Best regards,
Hernán

- Ticket Type / Category
- Registration ID / Invoice Number
- Event Name + Date
- Payment Status (Paid / Pending / Offline, etc.)
- Custom fields entered during registration (phone, company, ID, etc.)
- Check-in status + time (and allow quick check-in / undo)

Hi Hernan
Might not be exactly the same, but you can display registrant information in checkin result message already. See docs.joomdonation.com/eventsbooking/adva...-in-checkin-messages
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Thank you for your fast reply and for pointing me to the Check-in Result Message feature.
However, what I’m referring to is slightly different in terms of flow and UX, especially when using handheld QR APP, scanners or desktop QR readers.
Clarification of the request:
What I’m looking for is:
- When a QR code is scanned
- The system automatically performs the check-in in the backend
- And immediately displays a structured view (modal / screen / panel) with registrant information, not just a text message (something like TUAN PHAM NGOC - 5K RUNNING - JOOMDONATION RUNNING CLUB - TUAN@DOOMDONATION.COM).
OR show something like:
- Full Name
- Ticket Type / Category
- One or more selected custom fields (phone, ID, company, etc.)
- Check-in status (just checked in / already checked in)
The current Check-in Result Message is helpful, but it’s still a plain text message, and it doesn’t feel like a real “ticket validation screen”.
In real event scenarios, staff need a quick visual confirmation of who the person is and what category they belong to, without having to go back to the registrants list.
Key difference:
- Current feature → BACKEND ACTION
- Requested feature → QR scan → backend check-in → visual registrant summary
This would be especially useful for:
- Large events
- Multiple ticket categories
- Offline or fast-paced entrance control
- Using external QR scanners (keyboard emulation)
- Even a minimal version (Name + Ticket Type + one custom field) would already make a big difference.
Thanks again for your time and for continuously improving Events Booking.
Best regards,
Hernán

I see. That's the reason I said "Might not be exactly the same"

Hi Tuan,
Thanks for the clarification 👍
Understood.
In that case, could you please guide me on how to configure or extend the current QR check-in flow to get closer to what I described?
Specifically, I’d like to know if it’s possible (via settings, overrides, or customization):
When the QR is scanned
The registrant is checked in automatically
And the check-in result shows structured data, such as:
Name
Ticket Type / Category
One or more custom fields
Even if it’s not a full ticket view, any guidance on:
Which files to override
Which events / hooks to use
Or which data is available at QR scan time
would be really helpful.
Thanks again for your time and support.

This is not something quick and easy which I can guide you. You will need to find a developer to help you with the customization
