Hi,

Putting this in here as a wish list.
Using a desktop USB QR Scanner is faster than a mobile phone's camera. The scanner is connected to a laptop via USB.

I hope you can consider it.

Basically, what can be done is to have a separate Menu Item Type. For now, the Menu Item Type QRCode Scanner opens a page that utilizes the camera to read QR Code.
Maybe we can have a new Menu Item Type QRCode USB Scanner and when it opens it has field to enter the value of the QR Code. USB Scanners is just like keyboard that it types the value of the QR Code and automatically press Enter.

Here are links to a USB QR Scanner:

The USB Scanners here in these videos are all handheld, but there are also desktop types but same function.

I'll be willing to test it if needed.

Thanks for the great extensions and support.

Hi Tuan,

I hope you are doing well.

This is just to give some more information on what you can do so we can utilize desktop QR Scanners to scan QR Codes for check-in.

Image 1 (EB-Check-in_Manual.jpg) shows a sample screenshot of new link that you can add on QRCODE Scanner Menu Type. An example is "Enter Ticket Code Manually"

When clicked, it will go to sample screenshot Image 2 (EB-Check-in_EnterTicketCode.jpg). Here we can enter the Ticket Code manually and press Enter. It should be same action as scanning via mobile camera or Image File.

By default, USB desktop QR scanner submits an automatic Enter key at the end. So, if it reads the QR Code, it basically enters the Ticket Code on the field and the Enter key. Then, we check-in the registrant.

I'm sure most EB subscribers will appreciate this, especially those who use the Check-In feature of EB.

I'm willing to test it.

Thanks.
