Deposit Field was created by motwguy
There may be some way to do this with custom fields?
What I need is to display the cost of the event $1700, but in the form show the deposit required as $500 and allow the person registerring to to pay either the $500 deposit or the full amount on checkout.
[FIELD_VALUE]=[AMOUNT]

Yeah, this is kinda must have feature. Especially for touristic agencies. You don't pay for whole trip at once.

I'm sorry, I was stupid enough not to check if this was implemented.

Ditto, we need this as well - to show what value of deposit is required, and to give the option to pay
a) Deposit only, with full amount to be paid by xx weeks/days before the event, via the site - with email reminders
b) Deposit + remaining amount in one go (i.e. the full cost of the course) - place is confirmed
c) Remaining amount only - when they have already paid the deposit in part a) and are returning to pay the remainder.
Surprised it's not already there

Ditto, from me too. Without this the deposit function is not useful
As a minimum - there should be a choice of pay deposit or pay in full, but I do like a) and c) above a lot! Great idea.
Thanks

Not sure when this was added, but the feature is in the product now. In the Configuration, under the General tab, you'll find "Activate Deposit Feature". The deposit feature then shows in in the Event and can be configured on the right of the page under "Misc."
