Hi again
Getting a tad desperate for help with this, please. Livius Chebeleu's comment about using the Reminder emails has been a great help, thanks
However, when running many online events, it's a chore to have to add this to each event and I know my client is very anxious about having to do this.
At present she is talking about moving the whole process over to Zoom and omitting Event Booking altogether - this is an awful thought.
Is there a way we can add a [MEETING_LINK] or something similar, as a matter of urgency, to the registration detail, please,?
Huge PLEASE?!

Sue,
I'm glad you were able to implement a workaround.
Correct me if I'm wrong, is your recommendation of adding a [MEETING_LINK] field to event details so you can copy/paste meeting info from Zoom and have that info sent out via a parameter in the confirmation emails? It would be a parameter named [MEETING_LINK] and available in the applicable messages.
This wouldn't necessarily be more efficient for your client as you still have to create the meeting in Zoom and weather you copy/paste meeting info into the Reminder Message or [MEETING_LINK] filed it would be one in the same.
What might be an improvement for this method is that you could create new events via spreadsheet import that has this new meeting_link field populated with data from Zoom.
Is this what you were thinking to implement?
Tuan,
A more robust implementation would be a Zoom plugin that can be accessed from a new "Online Meeting" tab in the Event Manager: Edit Event interface. The plugin would create a Zoom meeting based on some basic input data. The UI would be something similar to the Zoom plugin for Google Calendar (GSuite) as an example:
Looking to the future, you may not want the "Online Meeting" tab to be just Zoom specific. You'd want to have the plugin interface section support input for other future plugins such as Webex or GoToMeeting or others. So what ever plugin you might have purchased would be accessed via this "Online Meeting" tab and populate the output field, [MEETING_LINK] as I described above.
I would be willing to contribute money to support this effort. Maybe others would too.
Regards/Livius

The plugin would create a Zoom meeting based on some basic input data. The UI would be something similar to the Zoom plugin for Google Calendar (GSuite) as an example:
- You can generate a meeting ID automatically or use your specific meeting code
- Enter event name, date, time and duration, password
- There are additional options in the GSuite plugin to set preferences for the meeting you're creating. Maybe a thoughtful consideration of what options to have set would be good. There may be a minimum set of preferences needed.
- The plugin interface section would be a form with the fields above that are needed to create a meeting using the ZOOM API.
- The output section would be the response from ZOOM with the meeting ID/URL link. It may be possible to specify what is outputed from ZOOM like the addition of call-in numbers and access code, etc. Maybe the output section is the same type of field that Sue was asking for, [MEETING_LINK]. As I explained to Sue above, this field could take manual input or from the Zoom plugin form. That way you can also import data from a spreadsheet like I suggested to Sue above and also reference it via a parameter in the applicable messages.
Looking to the future, you may not want the "Online Meeting" tab to be just Zoom specific. You'd want to have the plugin interface section support input for other future plugins such as Webex or GoToMeeting or others. I see your point - the possibility of using [MEETING_LINK] would only really work if your plugin method was incorporated.
This is obviously the most efficient way to create a population of data and the easiest way for users.
Hopefully this might be possible soon?

Sue,
There's another thread about registering users to a Zoom meeting here that looks promising.
Tuan,
It seems like we can merge these two threads as their end goal is the same. It would be great to get a quick outline of the proposed workflow from you and your team after you've compared Zoom's API with the needs of what's been expressed in these threads.
I think there should be some flexibility in your implementation that allows for:
These are just a few thoughts.
Anyone — Please add to or comment on desired functionality options or capability of the Zoom integration.

I think there should be some flexibility in your implementation that allows for:
- Different pricing for Onsite vs Online meetings. (Post COVID-19 environment)
- Ability to differentiate weather customer will be attending Onsite or Online
- Ability to prevent Online credentials from being sent to customers registering for Onsite. Maybe an option toggle for this functionality.
These are just a few thoughts.
Anyone — Please add to or comment on desired functionality options or capability of the Zoom integration.
