Hi, we're looking to do a photoshoot event as a fundraiser and it would be great if participants could also book a time slot within the times of the event.

You can set up a custom field (eg drop down list) to do this; enter your available time slots as the values, and a quantity of 1 for each value. See custom fields in the documentation for more info.
