Discountable and Non-Discountable Fees

Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible to allow fees to have discountable and non-discountable components?

As an example say the event fee is $20, transport fee $5, an optional lunch fee is $10 and an optional fee for a t-shirt is $12.

A discount coupon of 100% would be calculated as :
Event Fee: $20
Transport Fee: $5
Less 100% Discount: - $25
SubTotal: $0
Optional Lunch Fee: + 10
Optional T-shirt: + 12
Total = $22

In this case the event and transport fees are flagged as discountable, the lunch and t-shirt fees are non-discountable.

Looking I can't see a way of doing this but think it could be in each of the custom fields?

second thought, would it be possible to have fees flagged as added to the total AFTER the discount is applied. This would have the same outcome, non-discountable fees would just be added after the discount was applied...

I could use the non-discountable fees as well. It would be of great value to have the ability to mark a custom field as excluded from the coupon discount process.

One possible solution would be to include the field [DISCOUNT_RATE] in the custom field calculations so that the rate for this field could be divided by the discount rate to negate the impact of the discount rate on this field.

For instance. A registration of $90 for a dinner would be discounted by 20% for the early bird and result in a charge of $72.
However if the calculation was [FIELD_VALUE]/(1-[DISCOUNT_RATE]) the charge would be 90/.80 = 112.5 and when the 20% discount is applied the net effect is the desired $90

Any suggestions on a work-around would be appreciated.

I needed this for an event so have a temporary hack that will exclude any variable which starts with "XD_" from the discount calculation. Only works for individual fee calculations, not groups.

@tuan What would it cost to have this developed? We need a flag custom fields that allows them to be included or excluded from the discount calculation. I have this working based on the variable name (ie if variable starts with XD_ then it is not included in discounts).

I have to make this change for every release, what would it cost to have it integrated?

This would also be incredibly helpful to my organisation. Right now we're faced with having to completely recalculate our conference fees to account for the earlybird applying to everything on the registration.
