Can we have custom fields read only? (Read Only? Yes / No)
I use CB (Community Builder) and have an Drop Down Field. So user can select an entry in his user profile.
When user registered for an event i need that the user can't overwrite this field. So the field is read only (field mapping CB)
Sorry for my bad english.

I also have a (legal) requirement to show a personal "direct debit identifier" (SEPA) from CB (uploaded and read only) which should be shown in EB as well (read-only)

We need this as well. We need to show attendance so that attendees can get state required credit for continuing education classes.
I offered to pay for the enhancement and a few others but Tuan has not replied to my emails.

Actually, this only works for the text box and NOT the other fields.
If I want to track whether someone has attended an event I would create a custom field of type checkbox and mark it as readonly (so that the attendee couldn't change it themselves). Marking a checkbox as readonly doesn't prohibit the checkbox from being changed.
The other piece, at least for us, is that we need to create a custom field which is tied to all events. mark that field readonly but be able to set the value for that event within the event. If you follow what Janet and I have been discussing in the other thread, we want to be able to assign Continuing Professional Education credits to SOME events (obviously the awards dinner wouldn't qualify for CPE so that would be ZERO).
So, if we click on attendees, click on one persons name, click the custom checkbox for Attended it could be changed by anyone and if we created a readonly field for CPE credits, you can't assign credits to that attendee because its READONLY.
We're still stuck on this feature set...
