I would be a nice feature, if one (as in Jevents) could create a new location from inside the Add/Edit Event form.

Hope this can be added

I support this request. we have a 1500 user site, and members can create events, and mostly they all have their own locations for courses, classes, etc. Currently we use JEvents which allows this functionality.
