Integration with ACY mailing

When I first loaded events booking I loaded the plug in from the earlier version because I didn't realize that it was included in the main zip file. Can I just reinstall the plug in from the main zip file our do I need to reinstall the whole component?

I think you are on the wrong way.
The plugin which is included in the EventBooking Package isn´t the one we are talking about.

We are talking about a custom plugin from the acyba.com guys. It was coded for me and they wanted to pubilsh it to their paying customers.
I don´t know the date when they want to publish it.

I have contacted acymailing and they gave me the plugin and it works great. the only issue I am running into is that when someone receives the newsletter and clicks on a link to register for an event but the event is for "registered users" only it gives the error message "This event does not exist or we are no longer accept registration for this event." which is not true. What i would like it to say is "Please login to register for this event" like it does if you click through from a module.

Is this possible?

glad you have received the plugin from the acyba guys.
I don´t have this usecase on the site of my customer, so I can´t verify this. But as you are describing the issue, I think it is a bug in the plugin. I suggest you to contact the acyba support again...

I told acyba what you had mentioned in your last response and here is what they replied:
"Hello,

The registration link we use is:
index.php?option=com_eventbooking&task=group_registration&event_id=XXX&Itemid=YYY
(or task=individual_registration)
I guess it's the right link to use, isn't it?

The best solution I guess would be to redirect the user to a "please log-in first before registering to the event" in that case. We could force that directly in our link but in that case even already logged in users will be redirected to that page...

I would be happy to modify our plugin to apply the best solution...
To me it looks like it would be better to handle it on the EventBooking and catch this kind of condition (access the registration page by a non-logged in user to an event which is limited to logged-in users) and redirect the user to the log in page.

Did you have an answer from the EventBooking plugin developer?"

ahh OK. In this case I have to agree with the Acyba guys. Eventbooking should catch the condition of the user and redirect depending on the condition (e.g. logged in or not).

Maybe you ask Tuan here on Joomdonation what he thinks...

Could you please explain why you include the registration link into the email ? I think you can simply include the link to event detail page, customers can then click on register link on event detail page to register for the event ?

@Tony @Nobs : Could you please explain how the plugin the Acyba guys developed works so that I can understand ? Maybe I can develop it so that Events Booking customers can use it ?

the plugin was developed by the acyba guys to suit the needs of my customers and there is the possibility to add the registration links to the email in the way it is described here: joomdonation.com/61-features-wish-list/2.../reply-to.html#24148 and this works perfect if event is public (in my case).
As I understand Tony has events only for registered users and in this case the message he gets is wrong. For my understandig there should be a login page if the user isn´t logged in wich redirects after login to the relevant event.

The main goals of the newsletter that I am going to be sending out is:
1. to get people to sign up for a membership in our trade association (using membership pro)
2. to get people to sign up for events (some paid, some free) but all events I have I want people to register on our site first before signing up for the event.

From a sales and marketing view, the register link tells the recipient exactly what I want them to do. Simply providing the link to the site details page doesn't instruct them to register.



I have attached the view of the plugin from inside acymailing.

This plugin inserts upcoming events into an auto newsletter so we don't have to enter a link to the event details page manually as you have suggested in a previous post.
