Custom messages lost on component update was created by Gideon Larionov
Hello Tuan,
Take a look if you can save custom messages on component upgrade. My customer made component update today and he lost all those messages. May be you can add them to language file ?

Default language of website set to Russian. In Component Configuration area my customer sets customized/translated messages, like admin/user mail template, and all those were lost on component upgrade

Strange. Nothing will be lost when you upgrade component. Maybe something special on your site. You can submit a support ticket sending me administrator and FTP account of your site so that I can check it for you .

Also, the fields.xml file was overwritten and custom fields were lost and all component settings were set to component defaults.
How can we prevent it on next component update

I lost my custom fields, too, so I looked up my backup and fixed it:
Look up the fields.xml in components/com_eventbooking/fields.xml
Change your old file to the new syntax:
<params> to <fields name="params"> and
<param> to <field>
Don´t forget the closing tags </params> etc.
