Events Booking version 3.8.0 released was created by Tuan Pham Ngoc
Dear customers
Today, I am happy to announce new version of Events Booking 3.8.0 with the following nice improvements and some small bugs fixes
1. Support OpenStreetMap
As you already knew, Google changed policy for their Google Map service. They now asking you to provide billing details while registering for Google Map API Key and might charge you if your API usage exceed the limit they allowed for free. If you worry about it, you can now configure Events Booking to use OpenStreetMap as the map provider in the extension. It's completely free and it's pretty good. Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Map Provider config option to OpenStreetMap to use it.
2. Fields Assignment Plugin
With this plugin, you can now assign existing custom fields to your event on add/edit event screen. It's much easier than how it was in the past (You have to save the event, then go to Events Booking -> Custom Fields, edit the custom field and assign it to your that event)
3. Add new settings to custom fields, make it more flexible
- We added two new settings to custom field to allow you to choose whether it should be displayed and required for first group members in group registration
- We also added a new config option called Display custom field description to allow you to choose where/ how you want to display description of custom field (using tooltip, below the label, or bellow the field input)
4. Improve speakers, sponsors plugins, allow choosing existing speakers, sponsors for new event
- In the past, you always have to add new speakers, sponsors when you add new event. From this release, you can also choose existing speakers, sponsors which you added before for your new events. It will help saving sometime and prevent you from having to do it again and again.
5. Improve reminder plugin - allow sending reminders only by cron job
Events Booking uses a system plugin to trigger sending reminder email and it's not so reliable (it requires someone to access to your site to have reminder emails sent and the time the emails are sent is random - depends on the time there is user access to your site). If you want it to be more reliable (for example, send reminder emails at certain time of the day only), you can setup cron job to handle it. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s...job-to-send-reminder for detailed documentation
6. Some other small improvements
- Added a new config option Store user event's image in user own folder. If you set it to Yes, images of events which user uploaded when create event from frontend of your site will be stored in user's own folder (instead of all images stored in same folder)
- Added a new config option Category Dropdown Ordering to allow choosing how categories are ordered on categories dropdown (by default, it's ordered by Name but sometime, you might want to order it by ordering when it's displayed - for example, in search module)
- Support content plugin on registration form messages and registration complete message
7. Compatible with Joomla 3.9 - support invisible recaptcha
Invisible recaptcha will be supported in Joomla 3.9 (which should be in the next few weeks). One of it's new feature is support invisible recaptcha and I am happy to inform that Events Booking already supports it. It also works well with Joomla 3.9, too.
8. Code clean up + improvement
I continue working to improve code base of the extension (both PHP and javascript code), make it better and result in some performance improvement and also easier to maintain and customize if needed. This is a process which I will work on from time to time to make it better
9. Some small bugs fixes
- Fixed some warnings/errors with Google Structure Data.
Please update your site to this latest version of Events Booking to use these new nice improvements. Thanks for continue using our products and support our development
Regards,
Tuan

You have to unzip first, so updating via the default Joomla method is not possible...

Hi Tuan
Excellent work. Great enhancement with the Fields Assignment Plugin.
It would be great if we can have an extra option under Field Assignment in the Fields Manager saying "to be assigned" or "not assigned" or something similar. This would help setting up custom fields for later use under the plugin.
Regards
Sunil
