Reply button send email to admin insted to customer

Hi
When I receive email of new order and press "reply" button it wants to send email back to me because To" field contains my email address insted of customer's, why is that and how to change it?

Thank you for submitting the ticket here. Regarding your question, the reason because the email is sent from the site use email from is admin's store email so when you click on reply, it want to send to the admin's store email instead of customer's email.

If you have to change it, then it requires to customize to EShop.

I understand that email is generated by Eshop but order is made by customer and to me it is more logical that "reply" button sends email back to customer and not store owner.
There is no need for me to reply to myself ever.
I don't want custom modification for my Eshop, it would be nice if this can be changed in next version of Eshop or at least give us an option in settings to choose what Reply button does, send email to owner or customer.

I'm using latest version of Eshop on Joomla 6. When the admin receives the quote notification email and clicks Reply, the reply goes back to the store email, because the email is sent from the store address and no Reply-To header is set. The same happens with admin order notification emails.

This was already requested in 2022 and is still not used anywhere in the component.


Could you add a configuration option (e.g. Mail tab → "Set customer email as Reply-To in admin notifications": Yes/No) for admin quote emails and admin order emails? The From address should stay the store email, for SPF/DMARC reasons. Only the Reply-To header should be set.

In EShopHelper::sendQuoteEmails() this would be only a few lines.

Hello Matija,

I think this feature already supported for Order Notification email. Please go to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Mail tab, at "Reply to Customer", choose Yes, then Save the Configuration and test the Order Notification email of admin's store if it works as you expect.

it seems that this only works for order, not for quote. Since eshop is very useful for b2b quotes, it would be nice to add this feature to quote also.

Hi, i have updated to latest version 5.7.0. Reply to customer now works for quote also, but there is a diferent problem - now Additional Quote Alert Emails doesn't work. we need to get quote notification to at least two emails, but it'doesnt seem to work. Can you please check this?
