Ask A Question - exploited due to no RECAPTCHA

So far this morning, within 2 hours, we've received over 1000 submissions from the Ask A Question form, and they are steadily pouring in.

I see no ability in the configuration to enable recaptcha for the ask a question form. Actually this is quite unbelievable ... who doesn't provide the ability to prevent spam in their forms these days???

This should be a priority fix for eshop and osproperty, and any other components you have with forms without recaptcha in them because it is impossible to function efficiently with 1000s of spam steadily coming into our inboxes, not to mention the burden it puts on the server.

I've submitted a support ticket, I do hope that I don't have to wait the usual days on end for a response.

2 years ago I had to move my customers to a new shopping cart system because of this issue. Due to the major change from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 and having to rebuild all websites, I thought I would bring them all back to eshop, not even thinking that this exploit would not be fixed by now.

2 years ago you posted that you would work to get reCaptcha added to the Ask A Question form. That form is a very important feature.

Has recaptcha still not been added to the Ask A Question form?

Thank you for comming back here. Actually, reCaptcha is not too good for preventing spam. In Joomla 5, they drop recaptcha plugin from the default plugins. We don't have reCaptcha for the Ask a Question form now.

have you seen the new plugin from och? it's a form captcha that works by formid - I'm only mentioning since Giang said they were not working on one. It might be worth a try.

Could you provide a url so that I can have a look at the plugin you are referring to?
