Custom field for products

Hi all,

is there any possibility to add a custom field which is shown everywhere where the product price is shown. In Our country we have to show a basic price. For example:

the product price is 5,-- per 100 grams, so we have to show the price of 50,-- per kilogram.

I want to sell book, how can i add custom field for author so that in next adding new product i can just choose the author....(like i we choose the manufacturer)
