change order confirmation

On the site: blockydogs.com/cmsbd/ I would like to prevent customers from receiving a confirmation email.
i turned off the setting on the Invoice tab in Configuration:
Send Invoice to customer:
If yes, the invoice will be sent to customers after they complete order. set to No
but it still sends an order confirmation.

Also where can we set the Order Number. again saw Invoice settings, and set to start at 5000, but Order is saying Order #3
the cart is new, but the company has had over 10,000 orders. don't want it to look like this is a new company.

I found Translation pages under COnfig --> System and changed ESHOP_DELIVERY_DATE to Order Date, but that didn't seem to have any effect on the Order Confirmation.
if I could change "Delivery Date" on the order conf, i wouldn't have to prevent it from being sent.
Help?
