Membership Tool was created by jimi
If the Membership Tool is run a second time at a later date does it update the existing customer entries in the Eshop ? i.e. if their Membership Pro Group has changed does it change their corresponding group in the Eshop existing entry ? or does it write a new entry ? so you end up with 2 entries for the same customer ?

Jimi

Hello jimi,
Thank you for submitting the question here. Currently, it is only applied for the first time. If the data is updated in Membership Pro, it does not update in EShop now.
Sincerely, Giang

I did some investigation into our setup and it seems that because of the way our Membership Pro is setup, the "Membership Pro - EShop Plugin" updates the customers in EShop.
Just info I'll try and explain:
To be able to access EShop on our site users must sign up for one of two subscription plans in Membership Pro, (we have 5 plans but only 2 are relevant to EShop)
The plans are Basic Membership (lifetime) and Full Member (1 year) if a user signs up for Basic they are placed in the appropriate Joomla group and similarly if they sign up for Full (for 1 year) upgrading from Basic to Full does the same. On expiry they are taken out of Full and placed in Basic.
In Eshop we have setup two customer groups:
Default
Full Membership,
In Membership Pro plans, on the "EShop customer groups settings" tab we have set:
Basic to be placed in Eshop default group
Full Membership to be placed in Eshop Full Membership group
Default gives access to Eshop and Full gives access to Eshop with discounts
We used the Membership Tool to migrate all Subscribers from Membership Pro extension to EShop Customers on 18/08/2026 which went fine. I've since (today) cross checked in Eshop all the Membership Pro subscriptions/upgrade/expirys since that date and they all seem to be correct in Eshop.
So it seems that the Membership Pro - Eshop Plugin sees the upgrade/expiry group changes in Membership Pro (as new subscriptions ?) and updates the Eshop customer group. This is excellent as it is exactly what we wanted.
Best Regards
Jimi

Dear Jimi,
Yes, that's fine. I will also re-check this. It's great that it works exactly as you expected.
Sincerely, Giang
