Change order status by shipping method? was created by Seán Ó Séaghdha
Is there any way to control the shipping status that is set when someone buys an item?
It seems to change to Complete which is not helpful if you still need to actually ship the item.
What would make sense to me is Pending until payment, then Processing, then maybe Shipping, then Complete. Is there any way to change what gets set or do you have to do it manually for each order?

Hi Seán,
in my EShop installation (5.2.0) I always get "Pending" for my test buys (I'm still building my new site) for offline and invoice payment. So may be there is a misconfiguration in your shop. What payment plugins you are using?
I'm not sure but may be it is the missing switch "Shipping required" in Configuration -> Option -> Checkout? Without needed shipment I think "Completed" would be correct. But may be I'm wrong.
Another place where to change the state of an order ist also in the Checkout section (a few entries below). There you can set the type for every of the five states.
Best regards,
Christoph

Hello Sean and Christoph,
After customers place order:
1. If they use offline payment option, then order status will be Pending.
2. If they usse online payment option and pay for the order, then order status will be changed from Pending to Complete automatically.
So Pending meants that it is waiting for payment. Complete meants that order is paid.
If you want to control status of Order accoring Shipping status, you need to go to edit order and change it to another status manually.
Sincerely, Giang
