Can I remove Mandatory SKU? was created by Kevin Morrison
My client is using this as a catalog, not an online store. They have no need for an SKU and it makes zero sense this has to be a mandatory field. How do I make it so its not a required field?

Hello Kevin,
Please go to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Option tab, at "Product SKU Validation", choose No, then Save the Configuration and test again if it works as you expect.
Sincerely, Giang

Thanks, yes I tried that but SKU remains a mandatory field when setting up a new product.
