Use image URL for images instead of forced uploading was created by Nikita Dolphin
I have a couple of questions around image use in eShop. First, you're forcing the upload of images into a completely different folder than the primary image folder of Joomla, is it possible to move or use a subfolder within the main image folder, so that the images can be used on other parts of the site without requiring duplicate uploading.
More importantly, we prefer to use an image system such as imgix and have our current site images being delivered based on URLs rather than being uploaded onto the site directly. Is there some method where we can do this, rather than being forced, again, into doing an upload. Even if there's a method where we can create an override for the product display?
Just hoping, as the product catalog capability of joomla extensions seems to be quite lacking
Thanks

Hello Nikita,
Thank you for submitting the question here. Unfortunately, EShop only supports the upload image function now. I will think about a solution to improve this in the future.
Sincerely, Giang

That answers the current state as far as having to upload images. There was also the request as to changing the location of the uploaded files to reside in the core images folder. If the images are there, then it makes it easy to reuse those images on other pages etc, without having to upload the images twice.
This seems like a core basic feature we should expect.
Thanks

Hello Nikita,
I have been working to allow reuse the images now. It will be added to the next versions of EShop.
Sincerely, Giang
