Yes, that's correct. We only use the main image of product in that areas because if there are multiple selected option values with images, then we don't know which image to use if we use image of option value.

I understand, but if somebody take the extra step of inserting an option image its because its important.
Personally, I think its a mistake to not have the possibility to use the options images in the cart

The solution that make perfect sens:
• A setting to override you default to use the option image in the cart.

This is an example of where I will put that setting

I give you a simple basic example
- Say, you have multiple option colors for a sport car and the main product is white.
- And you put an option image for each colors (red, blue, black)

In your system, the customer that choose the red car option see the white sport car in is cart ?????
— That make no sens and can potentially loose the sell as the customer see the wrong item in is cart.
