custom invoice amount was created by Taewa
Is there a way to create a product/item in the catalog that has no price, but instead allows the user/customer to enter a custom price?  For example it has blank box for entry, and user can enter  $35.76   or   $29.83     or  $98.73  or whatever they want?  This would allow for payment of invoices being emailed to clients, as each one will be unique amount.  If this is not possible, then we could move this thread to "feature requests."

Thanks!

Hi again Taewa,

Thank you for submitting the ticket here. Sound like this is an outstanding feature and it is not supported by our extension.

Sincerely, Giang

Quick and dirty approach that I used to this on a different system was to create a product - for arguements sake call it "Pay my invoice" and set it up with a unit cost of 1p/1ec/1whatever your lowest unit of currency is. Then you just have to get your customer to input the figure.
So (and I'll use sterling here) the product costs £0.01.
Your customer's invoice is £10.63
They have to buy 1063 products to pay the invoice.
The alternative would be a category of invoices, create a template and bang out an individual product per invoice.
Hope this helps.

I agree, it would be an outstanding feature. Will you be adding to your list for future development? Please and thanks!

Thanks Dave. I am going to use that first option as a workaround for now. I'm just going to have them lower the quantity to the nearest dollar amount to simplify it. I have created the category (Invoices) and the product ("customer invoice") in the backend. However, I am having trouble getting the quantity button to appear on the front end. It's odd, because other products in my eShop are displaying this. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi - sorry that I didn't get back sooner - new here and either email is spamming the notification or I just missed it. Probably both.
You should note that I am not an expert in eshop and that I am currently trying to wrangle eshop to suit our requirement (and just in case anybody is listening - on a UI basis why does cart -> continue shopping default back to the product just purchased - still looking for an answer to the question :-) anybody?) so only running a local set up.
However I have just very quickly added to the system a category of PMI (!) and the product "My invoice was". Worked fine here.
Thought that I'd push the envelope a bit further to see if it was possible to capture the invoice number.
Added an option (PMI again - no imagination) as a text area with the description of "Please add your invoice number", set as required and then back to the product and set the option as required and with a price per character at .000000001.
Back to the front end and result. Needs a bit of cleaning up out of the box as it were ( could do without the (+£0.00 per character) at the side of the description for starters), but all in all it works.
Hope this helps.
Dave
