How change color of cart/compare buttons

I had my programmer change code to modify color of buttons, but then with each update of eShop the colors go back to grey.  Why would the "add to cart" and "compare" buttons be GREY???  With almost all sites having WHITE background, this makes it impossible to see the text of the button.  Is there a way to CHANGE color of buttons to match my existing website color scheme and make it stay that way each time I update eShop?  TIA

Thank you for submitting the question here. Please tell your developer to add the custom CSS code to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Custom CSS tab, then the custom CSS code will still be there if you update EShop in the future.
