Hello Patrick,
I think there are 2 things that you need to check:
1. Please go to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Option tab, at "One Add to Cart button", choose No, then Save the Configuration.
2. Please make sure that product is in stock (main quantity and quantities of option values must be > 0)
Then check the results again.
Sincerely, Giang

Thanks Gian Button are back
——————————————————————————————————
Curiously I get the “Add to cart” “Ajouter au panier” button on my added test products. Not the “View Details” button like your demo products?
I compare your demo product data with my own added products (Surfboards) and I cannot see a difference?

Hei again Patrick,
I think the reason because your product does not have required options so the Add to Cart is showed on the products list. The View Details button can be only used when products have required options.
Sincerely, Giang

I see,
Can you specify what “Required options” are needed for:
1- Bring the “View Details” Button
2. Bring the “Add to Cart” Button
Like I say, at the product level, I compare your demo product data with my own added products (Surfboards) and I cannot see a difference?

Hello Patrick,
Please try to edit a product, then click on Options tab, you will see options which are assigned to the product. Under an option there, at Required, choose Yes, then the View Details button will be used.
I hope this is useful.
Sincerely, Giang

That’s it, now I understand, Tell me if the following is OK?
When a product have a “Required” option, the “Add to Cart” button is replace with the “View Details” button on the Front Page Product List & Category Product List because you cannot buy the product directly without that required option. The “View Details” button redirect you to the the “Product Details Page” where you have to enter a choice for that required option.
There you have also the “Add to Cart” button that will work only when you enter a choice to ALL REQUIRED options.
Sorry Giang, but for a newbie these concepts and separate functions are not automatically clear. I suggest that you add that important concept (with example & print screen) in some FAQS or Important concepts for newbie section.
The only problem I see with this, is that even if this made your system smart enough to not permit a user to buy a product without choosing a required option, you will have users (Like Me) that want both the “View Details” button & the “Add to Cart” button present in the Products Lists. Like that, users that know about the products or don’t necessarily want to see the Product Details can buy the product right away in the Front Page Product list or in the Category Product List without never have to visit the Product Detail Page. Other users can visit the Details page for more information if necessary before buying.
You should, at least permit both buttons if a product have no options or no “Required” options. Buttons are better to initiate actions from the user than just clicking an image or some text links...
For now, I just insert a custom “View Details” button in the Short description of the products that target their Product Detail
