Downloadable products setup was created by Leslie Buck
I am having trouble setting up a downloadable product.
I created a file for download and discovered, by trial and error, that the only file type allowed is a zip file. So, I zipped a small video file (53Mb), and uploaded it. Unfortunately, after purchasing and downloading the file, it is corrupt. My computer cannot recognize the file to unzip it. Is the file size too big?
I see in the Eshop documentation that larger files can be uploaded to the folder media/com_eshop/downloads. Though the file appeared to upload through the downloads admin section, was it maybe corrupted or incomplete?
thank you,
Leslie
UPDATE:
Nevermind. Once I uploaded the file to the folder suggested in the documentation, I was able to get the video uploaded properly and the download feature worked. It may be helpful to others update the Eshop documentation to say that all downloadable products must be in the .zip format.

Dear Leslie,
It's fine that you figured it out by yourself. If the file is too big, then you should upload it via Files Manager of FTP, then you can select the file in the edit download screen.
Sincerely, Giang

Thank you. I understand. I was having problems because I did not know the file had to be zipped when uploaded.
