adding a module to a position when displaying a single product

I have a product that when it shows up categories>category>product I would like to display a module on the left module position for only that product, how is this possible?

I think you would have to create a menu link to that product and then associate the module to that menu item. It could be a hidden menu item if you don't want to clutter your menu up with many products.

The thing that you want can be only implemented by Alison's solution. That's the only way which supported by Joomla now.

However, if you don't want to create the menu item to the product, then it requires to customize to the module to have it to be displayed on the product details page as you want.
