Grey Box in front of EShop search

Hi, I have used the EShop search module which works fine however, there is a grey box in front of the search field that is sometimes larger than the search field and sometime the right size. I noticed on your demo site there is a magnifying glass in front of it. Can you please tell me how to get that?
