Additional Tabs

Hello,

I am in need of more custom tabs than eShop allows. I was able figure out how to add more tabs by modifying eShop files as well as adding a column for them in my database and this was successful, however my concern now is that when I update my eShop version it will overwrite the changes I made to the eShop files. Do you know if there was a better way of doing this? Or will the next version of eShop possibly allow for more tabs?

The files I modified were:

/Administrator/Components/com_eshop/views/product/tmpl/default.php
/Administrator/Components/Com_Eshop/Models/product.php
/Administrator/Components/Com_Eshop/sql/install.eshop.sql
/Components/com_eshop/models/product.php
/Templates/new/html/com_eshop/product/default.php (this one should be fine because I was able to modify directly in my template per another forum post I read.)

I am sorry but this is the only way that you can do if you want to have more tabs for EShop.

OK thanks. Is there any talk of possibly adding this functionality in newer versions of eShop? ie: the ability to add an more tabs?

Currently, it only support maximum of 3 additional tabs. In the future, I will consider to add more tabs if there are more people ask about it.

I'm not sure if it works this way, but would you consider adding it into the next update for a certain fee? If so, what do you think something like that would cost? We might be willing to pay if it's something that you might be open to adding. Thanks!

Right now we have the need for 6 tabs but potentially will be adding a 7th. I've read other forum posts and I think some other people would benefit from it as well. If you are open to it, please let me know what you'd charge and we may be willing to pay in order to get it integrated into your next update.

Hi Lauren,

As default, we have already had Description, Specification, Review, Related tabs. If you would like to have more 7 additional tabs, so totally of tabs is 11. It is a bit large and may that there is not enough space for that.

Of course, if you would like to have that, I will do it for you and update to the core of EShop. I will increase from 3 additional tabs (now) to maximum of 7. My quote to do this is $20. You can submit a new ticket to EShop category so I will work and update it to your site.

I'm sorry for the confusion, we don't need 7 additional, we need 7 total but some of which are already available to us in the existing version of eShop. You can see how I was able to add more tabs on my own on here: preformed.com/newsite/index.php/communic...bird-flight-diverter

But again to achieve the additional tabs I had to hack into the eShop files and add columns in my database. I'm hoping if you are able to add more tabs for me, they will be in the core eShop files so going forward when I update eShop it will keep the new tabs, is that correct? So below are the tabs we need:

Description (already exists, but I modified my template so it displays next to the product photo.)
Related Products (already exists)
Features (was specification, I just renamed in my template)
Documentation (new tab)
Part Tables (new tab)
Videos (new tab)
Literature (new tab)
Miscellaneous (new tab)

I guess technically that's 8 tabs, but I had moved the description so it's not in a "tab" format anymore.

If this all sounds good, I suppose next steps would be for me to submit a ticket via your ticket system? How should I go about paying?
