Price and ex-tax price display the same

Hi
I have set geo zone, tax zone and rate, default shopper group, currency, location etc as per the documentation.
However, on the front page, the price and the ex-tax price show up as the same.
It appears it is not calculating the tax.
Any suggestions?

found the problem: also needed to add Customer group (default) to the tax rate.
