Max length characters in options boxes

Hi there
Please someone explain if it is possible to limit the characters in input boxes in the product options?

eg
<input type="text" maxlength="30">

Here is a link to a shop I am building and I need to limit the characters in the boxes

Also is it possible to change the colour of the social media icon background colours? eg change facebook blue to black?
