US Taxes based on billing address was created by Lynda Campbell
Hello, i am setting up my eshop and am having a problem figuring out how to set up a US tax for the state of Michigan based on billing address. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The only need to tax people who's billing address is in Michigan (6% sales tax). Thank you in advance for any help!

Hello Lynda,
EShop allows you to setup the tax like that easily. Please read the following documentation to set it up properly: eshopdocs.joomservices.com/system/tax-ra...3-steps-to-setup-tax
If you are not able to set it up, please submit a new ticket to EShop category to send me the site information so I can help you to do.
Hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely, Giang

The steps in the how-to work well but I thought I'd mention that for most US states sales tax, including Michigan sales, it must be based on the shipping address, not the billing address. www.accuratetax.com/destination-origin-sales-tax/

In Michigan, you must also charge tax on shipping.

Hello Davewee,
You have option to select tax class based Shipping Address, Billing Address or Store Address. So if you want to have tax based on Shipping Address, just need to edit tax class and choose Base on is Shipping Address.
Sincerely, Giang
