Ajax update quantities on shopping cart page

In the cart is it possible to make the updating quantities ajax? at the moment it takes a while to reload the page

furthermore, when you are on a category page and click Add to cart for an item, if that item has options to select (eg Size) then it would be good if this was shown in a modal popup to select size and then get added to cart, instead of taking you to the product page to select and click Add to Cart all over again.

If someone has made the effort to add to cart we dont want them have an opportunity to back out by giving them another moment to think before having to click Add to cart again. Better workflow and help convert more sales.
