EDocman 4.1 Released - DOCX Preview Support and Document Management Improvements

We are pleased to announce the release of
EDocman 4.1.
EDocman 4.1 is a practical improvement release focused on making document management clearer, cleaner, and easier to use for both Joomla site administrators and frontend users.
This version improves the document preview experience, updates how file types are displayed, adds more flexibility to the Add Document form, improves the backend documents list, and includes several important bug fixes.

What's New in EDocman 4.1
1. DOCX Preview Support
EDocman 4.1 adds support for previewing
DOCX files, in addition to the existing preview support for media files and PDF documents.
This allows users to view DOCX document content more conveniently before downloading.
Please note:
DOCX preview support is added for DOCX files only. This version does not add preview support for DOC, XLS, or XLSX files.
2. Display File Type Instead of MIME Type
In previous versions, EDocman displayed MIME type information in some places. In version 4.1, this has been improved to display clearer and more user-friendly file types.
For example, users can now see file types such as PDF, DOCX, JPG, or PNG instead of technical MIME type values.
This makes the frontend document list and document details page easier to understand for end users.
3. Configurable Fields for Add Document Page
EDocman 4.1 adds a new configuration option that allows administrators to choose which fields are displayed on the Add Document page.
This applies to both frontend and backend Add Document forms.
With this improvement, site owners can make the document submission form cleaner, simpler, and better suited to their own workflow.
4. Improved Backend Documents List
The documents list in the backend has been improved to display information in a cleaner and more compact way.
This makes it easier for administrators to browse, manage, and organize documents, especially on websites with a large number of files.
5. Bug Fixes
This release also includes the following fixes:
- Fixed the issue when exporting categories to CSV from the backend categories list.
- Fixed the file type display issue in the frontend documents list and document details page.
