500 Incorrect string value

After updating Joomla and edocman, I uploaded a new PDF document, but it's not being indexed. When I click and try to force indexing, I get the following error message:

>> 500 Incorrect string value: '\xE2\x80Synt...' for column `onrdzrlt_ctgbrenzone`.`edggg_edocman_documents`.`indexed_content` at row 1<<

Everything worked perfectly in the previous edocman version. What has changed now?
