Bug Report: Editor Appearing in Category Field When Using Simple Form in EDocman

Hello,

I am currently testing a fresh installation of EDocman 3.1, and I would like to report an issue that appears to be a bug.

Under Configuration > Themes > Document Upload Form Settings, there is an option called Document Upload Form Settings.
When Simple Form is selected, the editor is incorrectly loaded in the front-end category selection field.
This issue does not occur when selecting Default Form or Ajax Upload.

Could you please check the behavior when Simple Form is selected?

Hi,

I believe this issue can be reproduced directly in your own test environment.
If you change the frontend user profile’s Editor setting to TinyMCE and select Simple Form under Document Upload Form Settings, the editor appears inside the category selection field every time.

Since this behavior occurs consistently regardless of my site environment, you should be able to confirm it on your side as well.

Hi,

After rechecking the issue more carefully on my side, I found that the problem was not caused by the category field itself. What I was seeing was actually the upper part of the Short Description editor appearing above the category dropdown. This was due to a z-index conflict.

In my environment, the TinyMCE class .tox .tox-editor-header has z-index: 2, which caused the editor header to overlap the category field.
I resolved the issue by adding the following override in my custom.css:
This behavior may be related to the template I am using (T4 Framework), so it may not be an EDocman-specific issue.
