PDF Indexer without EDocman was created by Techmistress
Hi all! I really like the PDF Indexer and have installed and set it up - all files have text content indexed.
Now, how do I use it with Joomla Smart Search, without having EDocman?
I added the smart search module, and had it choose a specific folder (not the docindexer - but the folder I indexed). It will only search the folder files title or description, but not content.
I'm running Joomla 4.4.9 and PDFIndexer 4
Thank You for the help!

Hi,
You can use PDF Indexer without Edocman extension. You just need to publish the plugin Joomla Smart Search Documents Indexer and run indexing in Joomla Finder tool.
After that, you will able to search through content of Documents Indexer.
Thanks
Dam

Thank you for your quick answer. This still will not show indexed documents. Here are the steps I took:
1. I changed the documents path to the phocadownload folder (files were already there)
2. I enabled all plugins.
3. I indexed all of my pdf files, and they have text content.
4. I ran the smart search index and they were indexed as type “Indexed Data”
5. I created a Smart Search Filter to search only for type “Docindexer”
This came back as “No Results Found”
When I added type “phocadownload” to the filter, I got results - but only titles, nocontent.
I’m guessing the problem lies in the fact I changed the documents path somehow.
Any ideas?
