Top level category layout

Hello team,

Is it possible to configure the main category layout & all other categories to look like this:

joomdonationdemo.com/edocman/index.php/edocman-layouts

If so, then how can this be achieved?  Note: I've used "Categories List" as the Menu Item Type, as shown in the documentation ( edocmandocs.joomservices.com/menu-layouts/category-list ) , however it doesn't seem to work.  I've got text in my categories, but none is shown: snipboard.io/1RuBOW.jpg

I'd also like to know if I can change the H1 header titles used for categories to H2 or something else.

Hi,
You just need to enable configure option: "Show sub-categories description" in Configuration page -> Tab: Themes
Then, you will have layout like demo page

1) How do I limit the amount of text shown for sub-categories description ?
2) How I can change the H1 header titles used for categories to H2 or something else?
