All questions about EDocman extension

Indexing is not working properly, and search engine not working

I have changed the permissions on pdftotext.pdf to 777 as advised.  Now when documents are added the indexing doesn't happen, but it does happen if the red dot is clicked, how ever it then creates the following error:An error has occurred.

0 Call to undefined function delete()

 Return to Control Panel

Secondly, If I run a search of the documents using the eDocman Search module, it brings up an Upload Document screen on the front end.

Thirdly, I am getting the following message: Invalid Category or you are not allowed to view that category  even though I am signed on as a Registered user and all permissions are Public.
