"View" PDF-file in same tab or in modal box was created by Didier Pollez
When choosing view document, Pdf files are shown in a new tab in the PDF viewer and this tab also contains the full website layout (modules ), which is confusing because this way you actually have 2 (or more) tabs with the same website. 
Is there any way to open Pdf files in the same tab (target=_self) or in a modal box (like multimedia files)?

Could you please send me the link to your documents listing page so i can check if we can make the change to show document details page in current page
