J!4 - German translations of edocman was created by ChrissMa
Hi there!
I'm testing out this component and I wonder how to get the German translation to work. I installed the translation pack / zip file, the de-DE.com_edocman.ini file is present at the correct place (root/language/de-DE/), but it seems it does not work on Joomla! 4 (most recent version). Neither frontend, nor backend.
Also, any change in the translation backend list makes no difference either.

What could it be that I've missed?

Thanks!
Chris

Well, at the moment I'm working on a local installation to try out eDocman. So I can't give you access to the system.
But I will install edocman online to a test installation. When done I'm going to test it again and also submit a ticket.
So far, so good. Thanks for your help.

Thanks!
I installed edocman into a test installation on my webhost to look into the translation features once more.
Bottom line:
The Joomla! integrated language overrides work fine and give me the needed ability to translate / change the (missing) language strings.
The integrated feature of edocman doesn't find several language strings, for example EDOCMAN_DISPLAY EDOCMAN_DETAILS EDOCMAN_VIEW EDOCMAN_DELETE (and several others, I guess).
Well, but I need a tip: I'd like to change the wording of edocman's backend menu (see image attached). Can you tell me which language strings to use?

Thanks a lot!
Chris

    Hi Christian,
With those language constants, you need to modify: root -> language -> eb-GB -> en-GB.com_edocman.sys.ini
    Thanks

Ok, yes, found it in the Joomla language overrides.
Interesting: If I override EDOCMAN_DASHBOARD (as example) it gets  the new translation in the backend menu and in the top menu of edocman. see images:

So this is one lang string on two places. Without Joomla language override the original edocman translation works only at one place:

    Regards!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
The language constants on Joomla menus are being defined in file: root -> administrator -> language -> eb-GB -> en-GB.com_edocman.sys.ini
They are different with language constants in component
    root -> administrator -> language -> eb-GB -> en-GB.com_edocman.ini
    Thanks
    Dam
