Media Player not showing up was created by James Paige
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to have an mp4 file play in the media player. I'm having trouble making it work.
I have added mp4 to the allowed section of the view config. Also, when I click on view, it just downloads the mp4 file instead of playing it.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advanced.

When I click on my mp4 file, Edocman shows a whole page of characters (the same as if I used Notepad). How do I trigger the MP4 player or at least a download button so that users can download the 384MB video?

Right.
The large MP4 is in a protected directory. I have put a small one for you in a protected directory at:

Aha, that may be the problem. I am attaching the part of that page, inserted by Joomla using the Edocman button. It is shown with a red arrow.
How do I create a Download button or a View button for that link to an Edocman file?
[without messing up my other Edocman links which give a straight click and view function for pdf files]

Last edit: 4 years 1 month ago by John Kaminski. Reason: Add a line to clarify that links to pdf files works great.

When you say download normally, do you mean right-click and save-as, or is there a download button on the page for you?
