Hi Hiryo,
1- is it possible to have the physical folders renamed when they are renamed in edocman?
-> You need to rename the folder manually, because Edocman won't rename your existing folder.
2- is it possible to keep the same physical tree structure when folders have been moved in edocman?
-> I am not sure with this question, could you please explain more details?
Thanks
Dam

Thank you for your answers,
Currently, creating a category generates a folder (on FTP with the same name)
too bad it was not modified when it was renamed from edocman
If a category has been moved from edocman, the folder is not moved.
In fact, I understand that there is no consistency between edocman and the folders (all this is done in database).

Yes, currently, we don't move the Documents folder when changing categories. Because with folder containing a lot of documents, it will need a lot time to move them, and many potential issues if we change folders structure too
Thanks

Hi,
I was about to open the same post on this argument…
I can understand that moving files from one folder to another can cause various problem in EDocman structure, but I think that renaming category should be a basic feature in EDocman: changing category name should update also folder name on the server, why this lack?
Thanks,
Lorenzo

Hi Lorenzo,
You are correct, currently, when you change the folder path of category, it will create new directory based on that path. I will consider to add new option to allow administrator to "create new directory" or "rename existing directory" in next Edocman version
Thanks
Dam
