I'm trying to get the category display to be like option 2 in attachments - This is currently achieved by clicking on PE Energy in option 1 - but we would like it to be like that from the start.

Please advise

Hi Werner,
You want to show the categories in Tree like the second picture. Like on this demo site: joomdonationdemo.com/edocman , module "Categories" at right hand side?

No I would like it to display like the first image - not in tree format - with blocks around categories

You just need to setup Joomla menu to Edocman layouts
