Same category name for different languages was created by John Berry
On my website I show a collection of Documents in 3 different languages.
ncs-tf.ch/de/policy-briefs
ncs-tf.ch/fr/policy-briefs
ncs-tf.ch/en/policy-briefs
So I ended up with 3 identical category names in the backend, in order to show the correct title (with rss-feed) in the frontend.
How can I rename the categories in the backend and still have 3x the identical title in the frontend?
ncs-tf.ch/de/policy-briefs
ncs-tf.ch/fr/policy-briefs
ncs-tf.ch/en/policy-briefs
So I ended up with 3 identical category names in the backend, in order to show the correct title (with rss-feed) in the frontend.
How can I rename the categories in the backend and still have 3x the identical title in the frontend?

On the page
ncs-tf.ch/de/policy-briefs
I show a collection of documents that belong to the category "Policy Briefs" (id=1) with Menu Item Type: Category Layout and a description in German. I have enabled RSS.
The same thing on ncs-tf.ch/fr/policy-briefs but with "Policy Briefs" (id=2) and a description in French. And on ncs-tf.ch/en/policy-briefs the category has the same name but a description in English.
It is obviously confusing to have three identically named categories in the backend, but in order to have the same title for all languages and RSS enabled in the frontend, I couldn't find any other solution.
Any idea how I can solve my problem?
Thanks, John

Hi John,
You mean that in both 3 menus, the header "Policy Briefs" is showing, right?
Thanks

Hello Dam
Yes, and this is deliberate. All 3 menus AND all page titles have to be called "Policy Briefs". Unfortunately alll 3 categories have to be called "Policy Briefs" too. And that's rather confusing for backend editors.
Sincerely
John

The menu type is category layout and hence the title is generated from the name of the Category. But if I change the category name (Policy-Briefs-DE), the title of the page
ncs-tf.ch/de/policy-briefs
changes to Policy-Briefs-DE too.
How can I override the title of the page ncs-tf.ch/de/policy-briefs and still keep the RSS enabled?

It is good I have occasionally saw this thread. I had exactly the same problem. And tried a lot of different methods without any result. I am from
dialcodes.co.uk/areacodes/01235
, and nobody at the local forum could give me proper advice. And here it is. Moreover, it is very simple. So I have amended everything with no effort. Thanks a lot for the solution offered here.
