Subcategories order on Category layout was created by LUIS ANGEL CAMARGO FONSECA
Hello.

Default sort option is affecting the order of subcategories when I set a Category layout menu, not when I'm using Categories list (in this case it uses category ordering as said here: www.joomdonation.com/forum/edocman/47437...ment-sort-order.html ).

Those are the steps to see the problem:
1. Create a menu item like joomdonationdemo.com/edocman/index.php/e...cuments-table-layout
2. Above of the sorting and documents there is the default table with my subcategories.
3. I want those subcategories to be ordered like backend categories ordering, but it gets affected by the default sorting from the component's config.
4. I also want the documents to keep the order as Descending creation date.

How can I change it so I have backend's ordering for subcategories and creation date DESC for the documents? Maybe you can tell me which file to modify. Doesn't seem a difficult fix but I couldn't find where to change it exactly.

Hi Luis,
Actually, the sub-categories will be sorted through Edocman configure options:
- Default sort option
- Default sort direction
Thanks

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, from what I see the subcategories are sorted by the config options. But in my case I need to have a different order for subcategories and documents. You know most people want categories (or subcategories) alphabetically, and docs on most recent first. Is there any way to achieve this? Even if I have to modify a core edocman file and can't update it anymore.

Hi Luis,
If you want to have different sort options for sub-categories, we can implement the custom work to add it for you. You can submit ticket and we will discuss more details about the work.
Thanks
