Two documents of a file possible? was created by Andreas Kunze
Hi,
I am just trying out how we can implement our journal archive with EDocman.
If I understand correctly, the multi-language function works so that for each language a separate document is created with the respective file, e.g. the document "English Journal" with journal-en.pdf and the document "German Journal" with journal-de.pdf. Both documents are linked via the ID of the associated document. Right up to here?
Our articles use the German language, but the titles and abstracts are also available in English. Is it possible to create one document for the German language and another for the English language, but both refer to the same file?
Regards, Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Currently, Edocman doesn't allow to have different documents to have the same physical files. You still need to create different Edocman documents in different languages. But Edocman already supports Joomla association feature, it means you can connect the same document in different languages. By that way, if you are in document details page on English, you can go to the same document page in German, for example.
Thanks
Dam
