Permissions for reading/writing to an NAS

This is a slightly weird one!! So, i've got an installation of Joomla with edocman added running under WAMP on a windows server. So far, so good. Edocman can read and write to folders on the server except one. It's an NAS set up and accessible from within the server but whatever credentials I try when configuring edocman it says documents path not writable.

The only thing i've not been able to do is set up apache (or WAMP) as a user with access rights to the NAS but no idea how that would look. Any help gratefully received.

The Edocman document root should be placed within Joomla folder. It's impossible to place Edocman document root in different folder on your computer.
