Different ACL between Edocman and PDF Indexer was created by Duncan Gilmour
I have noticed that when I index files on PDF Indexer, I have to choose an ACL for them all e.g Public, Registered etc. The files are then all indexed with that ACL level.

However, I notice that this does not change the ACL I assigned them when I uploaded them through Edocman. It is important, for security of data, that the correct ACL is assigned to each document.

I don't seem to be able to index my documents without a blanket ACL assignment but I hope this doesn't alter the ones I carefully set up earlier on upload.

Can you confirm which ACL is correct and if there are any security issues with having two differing ACLs applied to a document?

Many thanks

Hi Duncan,
PDF Indexer extension can be used to index content of documents in Edocman extension. But it doesn't mean the access level between 2 extensions are the same. And when you only use PDF Indexer to index content of documents (of Edocman), you don't need to turn on any search plugin of PDF indexer extension. By that way, user will only can search through Edocman extension with access levels of documents in Edocman.
Remember that when PDF Indexer index content of documents (of Edocman), the indexed content will be stored in Edocman tables.
Thanks
