Edocman hasnot indexed content of this document, we will do it when you save thi was created by Duncan Gilmour
I have version 1.11.0 installed which includes the indexer, as far as I am aware.
I can see the Indexed Content tab in the Document Manager: Edit Document page but al it contains is the message, as above,: "Edocman hasnot indexed content of this document, we will do it when you save this document again."
Saving the document makes no difference. Can you tell me if I need to enable something somewhere?
Many tha nks

Hi Duncan,
In this case, you should submit ticket on category Edocman and provide your site url with super admin account. I will check the problem for you.
Thanks

Hi Dam
Thanks for responding to my ticket. For everyone else; the answer is you cannot index files which are not stored on the local server i.e files stored remotely CANNOT be indexed.
Sorry, one last question:
I can move the files from Dropbox to the server to enable the indexing function, which could be very useful. However, on the test file I uploaded, I am getting the message:
sh: /home/help4for/public_html/riversidecourt.info/plugins/edocman/indexer/binaries/linux/pdftotext: Permission denied. Is this something to do with the core php function popen?
My hosting company (Siteground) tell me that I do not have the ability to enable this function unless I am on an expensive Cloud Hosting Plan. Is this your understanding?????
Can you quickly tell me more about the indexing function, please? Does it OCR the PDF file and allow for text search within the document, or is it a title only search?
Will it text search within text documents such as Word?
Can it read and report metadata such as stored in photos (JPG, TIFF, RAW)?
Very many thanks
Duncan

Hi Duncan,
First off all, you need PHP function: popen to be enabled if you want to index content of PDF files.
Second, you should change permission of this file: /home/help4for/public_html/riversidecourt.info/plugins/edocman/indexer/binaries/linux/pdftotext to 777
And then, please try to index content of PDF files again
Thanks

Thank you Dam
I have done that and things seem to be moving in a positive direction.
However, I now get the following showing in the Indexed Content tab:
/home/help4for/public_html/riversidecourt.info/plugins/edocman/indexer/binaries/linux/pdftotext: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.11' not found (required by /home/help4for/public_html/riversidecourt.info/plugins/edocman/indexer/binaries/linux/pdftotext)
Can you help locate this?
Thanks
