Details about how PDF indexer works?

So, it looks like the indexer reads the PDF and places text into database. What can you tell me about how the search function works? I demoed this for a client and they told me that text searching is slow. They wanted assurances it wouldn't be, if there were a large volume of documents. What can you tell me about how the search feature works with regards to this data?

Once the content of PDF files are stored in database. They can be searched through Joomla search tool or Edocman search tool. Both of search functions will search through Indexed content fields. So if you have a lot of documents, the search result will be returned slower than when you have a few documents.

I'm upto a couple hundred documents so far. It isn't particularly slow so far. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that if you're searching a pdf, The results will show you the pdf file that it belongs to, but you have no clue what page or where in the document your search string is. Hope this helps.

Hi Shane,
The Indexed content of PDF files will be stored in database, and it will be used for searching. The Indexed content will not be shown at front-end of component.
